Classic cocktails are called "classic" for a reason. I love a bourbon Manhattan -- the dryness from the bourbon, the sweetness from the vermouth and cherries, and the herbal bitters. It's a delicious mix of flavors all in one drink. For the twist of this drink, I added a little orange (pulling in flavors from an Old Fashioned drink), and an (optional) splash of cherry juice.
Ingredients
Servings: 1 drink
1 oz. bourbon
½ oz. sweet vermouth
3 dashes of bitters
Maraschino cherries
Orange slice
Directions
Pour bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitters into a glass with ice. Stir.
Strain into a cocktail glass. Add the juice from one orange slice.
Top with maraschino cherries.
Pump up the flavor: Add a splash of maraschino cherry juice for extra sweetness.
I hope you enjoy this cocktail recipe as much as I did! If you make it, please share it on social media using the hashtag #HHSCocktail, so I can virtually cheers you!
Thanks for joining me for "happy hour",
